Residents in and around Bedworth are continuing to enjoy evenings of dancing and live music thanks to a £500 grant from the Warwickshire County Council Councillors’ Grant Fund.

The funding, awarded by Cllr George Finch, Leader of Warwickshire County Council and local member for Bedworth Central, has helped cover room rental and live music costs, securing the future of Bedworth Dancing Social for a further year.
The group, which meets every Monday at Bedworth Ex-Service Club, offers live music, sequence, and line dancing. Beyond physical activity, it provides companionship, helps members make connections, and strengthens community links.
“

"I was absolutely delighted to support this group. It encapsulates so much of what is good about our communities. It brings people together for a few hours, but the benefits last much longer. People can have a laugh, enjoy a bit of physical activity and, importantly, connect with others in their community. It’s these connections that help strengthen our communities well beyond the time spent on the dance floor. This is a fantastic example of the Councillors’ Grant Fund making a real difference locally."

Sandra Ibberson of Bedworth Dancing Social stated that the grant will enable the club to continue its evenings of dancing and live music, bringing like-minded people together for socialising, exercise, and friendship. She added that all abilities and individuals are welcome, and that even those who cannot dance can easily pick up some of the steps.
“

"The group is very important to social, physical and mental health. Socialising, learning new dances as well as getting physical exercise contributes to a longer happier life. The funding now means that our club can continue for the next 12 months without the worry of running out of funds and is a huge lifeline for us."
