Communities across the Harborough district will gather this November to commemorate Remembrance Sunday and Armistice Day with a series of services, parades, and events.

Harborough District Council is supporting local observances, with Union flags to be flown at The Symington Building and in Market Harborough town centre. The Royal British Legion's annual Poppy Appeal is also being supported.
On Saturday 7 November, a service will be held at the Portico at Rosewood Manor Care Home, Coventry Road, Market Harborough, with representatives from the Royal British Legion, Armed Forces organisations, and the Council's Chairman expected to attend.
Remembrance Sunday on 8 November will see a parade depart from The Commons Car Park in Market Harborough at 9:30am. A service at St Dionysius Church at 10am will be followed by a procession to The Square for an Act of Remembrance at the War Memorial at 11am. The public is encouraged to attend the Act of Remembrance in The Square due to limited church capacity. Wreaths will be laid by representatives from various organisations including the Royal British Legion, veterans' groups, the Lord-Lieutenant of Leicestershire, cadets, Harborough District Council, and local Scouting and Guiding groups.
In Lutterworth, organised by Lutterworth Town Council, a parade will assemble at the Wycliffe Rooms before proceeding to the War Memorial Gardens for an Act of Remembrance at 10:45am. A representative of the Lord-Lieutenant of Leicestershire will take the salute.
Armistice Day on Wednesday 11 November includes a short Act of Remembrance organised by the Market Harborough Branch of the Royal British Legion in The Square at 10:50am, featuring the national two-minute silence. Several local primary schools will participate. In Lutterworth, the Royal British Legion branch will hold a service at the Memorial Gardens, gathering from 10:45am for the 11am silence.
Residents are advised to check with their local parish council, town council, place of worship, or Royal British Legion branch for details of events in their communities. Further information on the council's support for the Armed Forces community is available at www.harborough.gov.uk/armedforces.
