A former patient has raised an impressive £3,830 for the Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital Charity to support the Hummingbird Service at Royal Shrewsbury Hospital.
Tudur Evans, who received treatment and support from the Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust’s (SaTH) Hummingbird Service following a rare condition diagnosis, has raised a significant sum to aid future patients.
The fundraising initiative was spearheaded by Dyffryn Banw YFC with a darts night, and further boosted by smaller community events, demonstrating widespread local support. The total amount raised reached an impressive £3,830.
Tudur, accompanied by his sister Grug, visited the Trust to see the impact of the donation. They met with Catherine Wakeley, Specialist Endocrine Nurse, and Dr Anna Green, Clinical Director for Diabetes and Endocrinology.
The funds will be used to enhance the care and patient experience within the Hummingbird Service at Royal Shrewsbury Hospital.
