The Miners’ Memorial Bricks, located around the Anglesey Clock Tower, serve as a lasting tribute to the miners and families whose contributions were instrumental in building Hednesford and fostering its strong community spirit.
The council has allocated a portion of its CIL funding for the professional cleaning of these significant bricks, aiming to preserve this important part of the town’s heritage.
A spokesperson for the council stated, "Taking pride in our past helps strengthen our future, and we’re delighted to play a part in protecting this important memorial for generations to come."
The council is also inviting residents to share ideas on how the remaining CIL funds could be best utilised. Suggestions can be sent to clerk@hednesford-tc.gov.uk.
