Lichfield District Council has unveiled the five-strong judging panel for the 2026 Beacon Awards, comprising leaders from business, culture, and the community, set to recognise local achievements.

A distinguished panel of five leaders, bringing together extensive experience from the business, culture, and community sectors, has been appointed to judge this year's Beacon Awards. These awards aim to celebrate the exceptional contributions of businesses, organisations, and individuals within Lichfield District.
The judging panel features senior figures from prominent organisations across logistics, manufacturing, arts and culture, tourism, and the voluntary sector. Rob Gittins, Managing Director of Palletways, brings significant experience from leading a major logistics firm based in Fradley. His prior experience as a recipient of a Beacon Award offers valuable insight into the awards' impact on local businesses.
Matt Clay, Director of Development & Partnerships at Lichfield Garrick, joins the panel with expertise in fostering partnerships, supporting the arts, and enhancing the role of cultural organisations. The Garrick was also a winner at the 2025 awards.
Representing the manufacturing sector is Terri-Anne Cooper, Sales & Marketing Director at Roxane UK, contributing her commercial acumen in sales, marketing, and business development.
Maggi Huckfield, founder and CEO of Liberty Jamboree, brings a unique perspective on community impact. Recognised as a Community Hero at the 2025 Beacon Awards, she has dedicated over a decade to championing inclusion and creating opportunities for individuals with additional needs.
Completing the external judging panel is Simon Warburton, Chief Operating Officer at Lichfield Cathedral. He offers leadership experience from a significant heritage and visitor attraction, alongside an understanding of the importance of culture, tourism, and partnerships to the local economy.
Adding a local authority perspective is Councillor Richard Holland, Lichfield District Council's Cabinet Member for High Street and Economic Development. He provides insight into the council's initiatives to support businesses and foster economic growth across the district.
