A new Specialist Resourced Provision, named The Grove, has opened at Tysoe C of E Primary School in south Warwickshire, offering tailored support for children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), particularly those with communication and interaction needs.
Since its opening in April 2026, The Grove has been providing specialised support for children with communication and interaction needs, including autism and speech, language, and communication difficulties. The provision aims to foster learning, build confidence, and encourage active participation in school life.
The Grove has rapidly integrated into the school, blending specialist assistance with opportunities for children to learn and interact with their peers in mainstream classrooms when appropriate. This inclusive strategy aligns with the school's core values of ensuring every child feels valued, supported, and capable of achieving their full potential.
Specialist Resourced Provisions like The Grove allow children to receive targeted support within their local communities, helping them stay connected and maintain vital friendships. The Grove provides up to 10 places for pupils from Year 1 to Year 6, with admissions managed through a staggered approach to ensure careful planning for each child's transition based on their individual strengths, needs, and readiness.
Led by experienced specialist staff, the provision focuses on smaller group learning, customised resources, and a supportive environment designed to develop children's confidence and independence. Each pupil's programme is individualised, guided by their Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP), with a strong emphasis on enhancing communication and interaction skills.

"It is wonderful to see The Grove now firmly established at Tysoe C of E Primary School and the positive difference it is making to children and their families. We want children with SEND to have access to high-quality education where they feel supported, included and able to develop their confidence and independence. The Grove is a great example of how specialist provision within a mainstream school can help us achieve this."

"Since opening The Grove in April, we have been incredibly proud to see it become such an important part of our school community. Our focus is on getting to know each child and providing the right balance of specialist support and opportunities to take part in wider school life. We are already seeing children grow in confidence, develop their independence and build a real sense of belonging. Working closely with families is also central to our approach. We want every child who comes to The Grove to feel understood, valued and supported, and their families to feel involved and empowered every step of the way."
Places at The Grove are allocated via Warwickshire County Council’s High Needs Provision Panel. Children attending will have an EHCP, with The Grove specifically supporting those with communication and interaction needs. Further information is available on the school's website.
