Warwickshire County Council is celebrating the vital role of youth workers and organisations in supporting young people across the county during Youth Work Week 2026, running from 2–8 November.

This year's theme, 'Where Futures Begin', underscores the positive impact youth work has on young people's lives, fostering confidence, developing new skills, and building community connections. Youth workers and voluntary organisations across Warwickshire provide safe spaces for young people to explore opportunities and receive support.
The celebrations also coincide with the launch of the new Warwickshire Youth Work Pledge. This initiative unites youth organisations county-wide under a shared commitment to high-quality youth work, outlining expectations for young people, including feeling welcomed, respected, listened to, and having opportunities to learn and thrive. The pledge aligns with the goals of Child Friendly Warwickshire, aiming to create a county where young people feel safe, valued, and supported.
In the past year, Warwickshire Youth Service recorded over 16,500 contacts with young people through its clubs and projects. The service also offers one-to-one support via Warwickshire's Families First programme.
“

"Youth workers play such an important role in our communities. They build trusted relationships with young people, listen to their concerns and help them build confidence. This year's theme, 'Where Futures Begin', is a wonderful reminder that even the smallest conversation, word of encouragement or opportunity can make a lasting difference to a young person's future. The launch of the Warwickshire Youth Work Pledge reinforces our commitment to creating a Child Friendly Warwickshire, where every young person feels valued, supported and able to thrive. We're proud to celebrate the dedication of youth workers and voluntary organisations who help make this possible every day."
