A former Uniformed Protective Services student from Stratford-upon-Avon College has returned to inspire current students, sharing his remarkable journey from leaving school with no qualifications to building a rewarding career as a Police Officer.

Sasha began his studies at the college with no GCSEs. He progressed through Level 1 Sport, followed by Level 2 and Level 3 Uniformed Protective Services, while also retaking his GCSEs and achieving top marks. This laid the foundations for a successful career as a medic and subsequently a Police Officer.
Always aspiring to a career in Public Services, Sasha found a different route to his dream job after finishing school with no qualifications due to severe dyslexia. He thrived during his time at college, particularly crediting the tutors for their support throughout his journey.
Initially denied a Special Constable position due to lack of experience, Sasha pursued first aid training during his final college year, gaining a First Response Emergency Care (FREC) 3 qualification. He began working for event medical company Showmed at weekends, eventually being promoted to Team Leader and obtaining his FREC 4 qualification.
With his accumulated experience, Sasha successfully applied to join the Police Service and is now completing his basic training to become a Police Officer in the local area. He returned to the college to demonstrate to current students that achieving career goals is possible, even with a challenging journey.
