Four friends from Walsall have raised £2,263 for the Palliative Care Centre after completing a 112-mile cycle ride in memory of loved ones lost to pancreatic cancer.

Chris Antill, 36, his cousin Ryan Humpage, 34, Ryan’s friend Brian Price, 54, and Brian’s nephew Nathan Harris, 30, cycled from Goscote Hospice to Rhyl in North Wales over two days in May 2026.
The fundraiser held special significance for the group. Chris lost his mum, Leisha, in August 2025, while Ryan lost his dad, Pat in April 2025. Brian and Nathan also lost a beloved family member, with Brian’s mum and Nathan’s nan, Josie, passing away from pancreatic cancer in January 2026.
Goscote Hospice supported both Chris’s mum and Ryan’s dad during their illnesses, inspiring the group to give something back while honouring their loved ones’ memories.

"It was very emotional. A lot of people said we would struggle and wouldn’t be able to do it, but I think we all underestimated just how hard it was going to be. That made finishing it an even bigger achievement. We wanted to do it in memory of them all and raise money for the Palliative Care Centre. We couldn’t fault the care my mum received there. The District Nurses were amazing and always very responsive. My mum felt at ease because they were so kind."

"We would like to say a huge thank you to Chris, Ryan, Brian and Nathan for taking on such a challenging ride in memory of their loved ones. Raising £2,263 is a fantastic achievement and these funds will help us continue supporting patients and families receiving care through the Palliative Care Centre."
