Chesterfield will hold its annual Remembrance Day service and parade on Sunday 8 November, culminating in a ceremony at the War Memorial outside the Town Hall.

The community is invited to gather for the annual service of remembrance, honouring those who have made sacrifices. The main service will take place at St Mary and All Saints’ Church, known as the ‘Crooked Spire’, starting at 2:30pm on Sunday 8 November. Attendees are advised to arrive by 2pm to secure a seat due to expected crowds.
Following the church service, a parade will proceed through the town centre, including Burlington Street, High Street, Glumangate, and onto Rose Hill. A short ceremony will be held at the War Memorial opposite the Town Hall on Rose Hill around 3:30pm. The parade is scheduled to be dismissed at 4pm. Dignitaries from across Derbyshire, members of the Armed Forces, ex-services organisations, and uniformed youth groups from Chesterfield are expected to participate.
A separate ceremony to mark Armistice Day will be held outside the Town Hall on Wednesday 11 November, commencing at 10:55am. This service, which will include local dignitaries and schoolchildren, is expected to last approximately 30 minutes and is also open to the public.
Chesterfield Town Hall will feature its annual poppy cascade, installed from Monday 2 November, weather permitting. Volunteers from The Royal Engineers Association are responsible for its preparation and display. Councillor Shirley Niblock, the Mayor of Chesterfield, expressed pride in leading the borough's remembrance efforts, highlighting the collaboration with volunteer organisations to ensure the occasion is marked with respect.
Road closures will be in effect on both Sunday 8 November and Wednesday 11 November to ensure the safety of the events. Additionally, Staveley Town Council will host its Remembrance parade and service on Sunday 8 November, forming in Staveley Market Place at 10:15am for a 10:45am service at the Garden of Remembrance. Brimington Parish Council will also hold its service on Sunday 8 November, with a parade departing the Recreation Ground at 1:45pm for a 2pm service at St Michael and All Angels Church, followed by wreath-laying at the Memorial Gates in Broom Gardens at 3pm.
