“"We're delighted with the works carried out at Crow Mills allowing visitors better access to connect with nature and improve their own health and wellbeing. The previous steep and narrow slopes were prone to flooding, often becoming difficult to use during the autumn and winter months with muddy, uneven ground and fallen crab apples. We now have a much-improved, more accessible pathway, so people can enjoy this beautiful walking trail all year round. Feedback received from visitors has already been hugely positive. It's satisfying to know our efforts are appreciated and the works are making a real difference to people's experience of the site."

Access to the popular Crow Mills nature trail in Blaby District has been significantly improved following a three-week refurbishment programme, making it safer and more welcoming for visitors.
The rear entry point from Mill Lane into the woodland walk has been transformed. The previously steep and challenging route has been widened, featuring a more gradual slope, remodelled turning areas, and enhanced drainage. Overhanging vegetation has been removed and will be replaced with new planting later in the year.
Connecting paths have also been renovated, and the lower fence has been replaced to improve the site's overall appearance. The trail, created along the former Derby to Rugby railway line, offers a 2.1-mile circular walk between Countesthorpe and South Wigston, blending aquatic, wetland, and mature woodland habitats.
The area is home to a variety of wildlife, with visitors frequently reporting sightings of herons, mallards, moorhens, woodpeckers, squirrels, and evidence of badgers and otters.
