“"The partially updated Melton Local Plan sets out our vision for how the borough will grow and develop over the coming years. As part of this process, we are inviting residents, businesses and stakeholders to review the proposed Main Modifications and tell us what they think. Hearing from our communities is an important part of the process, and we welcome everyone with an interest in the future of the borough to get involved. All representations received will be considered by the independent Planning Inspectors before they issue their final report, helping to ensure the Local Plan reflects the needs and aspirations of our communities."

Melton Borough Council is inviting residents, businesses, and stakeholders to provide feedback on proposed changes to the Melton Local Plan Partial Update.
The Local Plan guides development decisions across the borough, including new homes, employment land, and infrastructure. The council has been reviewing and updating the current plan to ensure it meets community needs and reflects national planning policy. This partial update has reached its final consultation stage before formal adoption.
The proposed changes, known as Main Modifications, have been put forward by independent Planning Inspectors to ensure the plan is sound and legally compliant. This is expected to be the final stage of the examination process before the inspectors issue their report.
The consultation runs from Friday 30 October until 11:59pm on Monday 14 December. Comments can only be submitted on the proposed Main Modifications at this stage. Documents and the online consultation can be accessed via haveyoursay.melton.gov.uk. Alternatively, comments can be emailed to planningpolicy@melton.gov.uk or sent by post.
Paper copies of the consultation documents are available at Melton Mowbray and Bottesford libraries, and at Melton Borough Council’s Parkside offices. For further information or support, contact the planning policy team on 01664 502 502 or planningpolicy@melton.gov.uk.
Two free drop-in sessions will be hosted: an in-person session on Thursday 19 November, 10:00am to 5:00pm, at Parkside Offices, Burton Road, Melton Mowbray, LE13 1GH, and an online session via Microsoft Teams on Wednesday 25 November at 6:30pm, featuring a presentation and Q&A.
All comments received will be submitted directly to the independent Planning Inspectors for consideration in their final report on the examination of the Melton Local Plan Partial Update. Postal responses should be sent to: Planning Policy Team, Melton Borough Council, Station Approach, Melton Mowbray, Leics, LE13 1GH.
