Significant funding has been secured for the Aisby Walk Play Area Project, paving the way for a new skate park, play areas, and CCTV installation.

The Aisby Walk Play Area Project is set to undergo a significant transformation following the successful award of funding from the National Lottery Community Fund. Wheelscape Ltd has been commissioned to construct a new concrete skate park, while Wicksteed Leisure Ltd will create two new play areas for local children and families. The project also includes the installation of CCTV on-site.
This comprehensive upgrade represents a £440,637.44 investment in Aisby Walk. Funding has been contributed by the National Lottery Community Fund (£176,279), Gleeson Homes through Section 106 Funding (£164,791.44), and FCC Communities Foundation (£99,567.00).
These new facilities are designed to provide modern, inclusive, and accessible spaces for children, young people, and families to play, socialise, and remain active for years to come. The council expressed gratitude to the community for their input during the 2025 consultation and for their patience throughout the grant application process, noting that community views helped shape the park's future.
Work on the project is expected to commence soon, with the new facilities anticipated to be ready for residents by late February 2027. This investment is described as a 'once-in-a-generation' opportunity for Aisby Walk.
