Lincolnshire County Council has awarded £5,000 to charity CVS to fund a year of family events at the Moorland Centre in Lincoln, through the Strategic Grant Fund.

The funding, put forward by Cllr Stuart Grantham, will be used immediately, with the first event being a Halloween arts, crafts, and family movie day. This initiative aims to bring the community together, reduce isolation, and support family wellbeing.
Cllr Stuart Grantham, county councillor for the Hartsholme division, also allocated £2,000 from the councillor divisional grant scheme to support the home education group operating from the Moorland Centre.
The strategic grant will support a variety of events throughout the year, including Christmas activities with Santa, February half-term nature activities, Easter theatre and games, May half-term street theatre within the Moorland ward, and a summer community celebration.
Vicki Connolly from CVS expressed pleasure at the extended variety of inclusive events made possible by the additional funding, which will offer different experiences for families during school holidays over the next 12 months.
Details of upcoming events can be found on the Moorland Community Centre Facebook page. Further information on the council’s community grant schemes is available on the Lincolnshire County Council website.
