As Movember approaches, Lincolnshire Council is spotlighting community groups and official services dedicated to enhancing men's mental wellbeing and encouraging help-seeking.

With Movember, the annual campaign focused on improving men’s health and mental fitness, just around the corner, Lincolnshire is highlighting the vital support available. Beyond formal mental health services, numerous community groups across the county are actively working to combat isolation, boost mental wellbeing, and encourage men to seek assistance before reaching a crisis point.
Notable initiatives include BroPro, a support group offering a safe environment for men to connect and converse, and Boston Men’s Shed, which provides a space for social interaction, friendship, and the sharing of skills and knowledge.
Further information on the local community support network can be found on the HAY Lincolnshire website.

"Although people are now far more aware of the importance of good mental health, there are still some who find it difficult to seek support when they need it. Movember is the ideal time to encourage conversations around mental health, reduce the stigma and highlight the support available."

Cllr Steve Clegg · Executive Councillor for Adult Care and Health

"But we also want to hear from you. Has a local group helped you feel connected? Has a club, activity or support network made a positive difference to your life? You can share your stories on our Let’s Talk page to showcase the incredible support available across Lincolnshire and perhaps inspire someone to reach out."

Cllr Steve Clegg · Executive Councillor for Adult Care and Health
Individuals are encouraged to share their stories and recommendations via www.letstalk.lincolnshire.gov.uk/movemberinlincolnshire to highlight the support networks within Lincolnshire and potentially inspire others.
In situations where mental or emotional state deteriorates rapidly, referred to as a ‘mental health crisis’, prompt help is crucial. Those experiencing distress or worry about their mental health can access urgent local support by calling NHS 111 and selecting the mental health option. For immediate assistance in serious or life-threatening emergencies, the public should call 999 or go to the nearest emergency department.
