The University of Lincoln will host its sixth annual Festival for the Future from 2 to 7 November 2026, bringing together diverse groups for a week focused on climate action, nature, and community under the theme ‘Hope for the Future’.
The university's award-winning sustainability festival, formerly known as the Climate Action Festival, encourages positive local action towards a sustainable future. This year's theme will be explored through activities in Climate Education, Nature Positive, and Culture and Community.
Since its launch in 2021, the Festival has gained national and international recognition for its impact, including a Green Gown Award. It successfully connects sustainability research, education, and community action.
The week-long event will feature a variety of activities, such as an art exhibition, a sustainability showcase, film screenings, clothing swaps, nature and educational workshops, and guided nature walks.
Organisers are also inviting individuals, community groups, businesses, and organisations from across Lincolnshire to contribute to a digital campaign, raising awareness of climate and nature action under the banner #hopeforthefuture.
The Festival is part of the University of Lincoln’s broader commitment to sustainability, supporting the transition to a low-carbon future through research, education, innovation, and community engagement. Many events are free and open to the public.
