Lincolnshire County Council is expanding its successful 'Grow Your Skills' events across the county, offering free advice and guidance to residents seeking to enhance their career prospects.

Following a successful series last year that supported hundreds of residents, the Grow Your Skills events, delivered by the county council’s 2Aspire programme, are set to continue. In partnership with various training providers, employers, and support organisations, these events provide free advice and guidance for individuals looking to gain new skills, improve their career prospects, or explore new opportunities.
The events consolidate specialist training providers, local employers, Jobcentre representatives, and Information, Advice and Guidance officers under one roof. This aims to make it easier for residents to access support tailored to their specific needs, whether they are seeking employment, considering a career change, looking to improve digital skills, or simply exploring local offerings.
Scheduled dates for the upcoming events include: 21 October 2026 at Sudbrooke Drive Community Centre, Lincoln; 4 November 2026 at The Storehouse, Skegness; 12 January 2027 at Mayflower Building, Boston; 17 February 2027 at Jubilee Church, Grantham; 17 March 2027 at Park Springs Community Centre, Gainsborough; 16 April 2027 at Trinity Centre, Louth; and 6 May 2027 at Broad Street Church, Spalding. All events run from 10am till 12.30pm.
The latest programme builds on the success of the 2025/26 series, which saw over 550 attendees across Lincolnshire. Independent evaluations highlighted strong engagement from both participants and partners, with organisations reporting direct outcomes such as course enrolments, volunteering opportunities, and referrals for skills, employment, and wellbeing services. For instance, Grantham College enrolled 15 individuals onto courses, and the Lincolnshire Community and Voluntary Service facilitated volunteering appointments.
