Newcastle-under-Lyme Borough Council has officially opened the transformed Bradwell Dingle, offering families a new £500,000 play and exercise space, with an open day this Sunday.
Bradwell Dingle has undergone a significant £500,000 transformation, creating a new space for families to play, exercise, and socialise. Residents are invited to celebrate the improvements at a community open day this Sunday 18 October, between 11am and 4pm.
The project, a collaboration between Newcastle-under-Lyme Borough Council and Four One Four Skateparks, features a larger, modern, and inclusive playground with over 70 play elements. A new pump track, outdoor gym equipment, and landscaping enhancements have also been delivered. Funding for the project came from developer contributions secured from the nearby Knype Way housing development.
Feedback from local families, residents, and park users, including the Friends of Bradwell Dingle, shaped the design to ensure the facilities meet community needs. This initiative aligns with the Council’s Building a Better Borough 2026 – 2030 plan, focusing on neighbourhood improvements and public spaces.

"This is what investing in our communities should look like: better facilities for children, more opportunities for families and a neighbourhood park that local people can be proud of. Thanks to £500,000 of investment, families have a fantastic new playground, a pump track and outdoor fitness facilities right on their doorstep. Our focus is on getting the basics right, improving the places residents use every day and restoring pride in our neighbourhoods. We want to see parks that are welcoming, looked after and enjoyed by people of all ages. I would encourage families to come along on Sunday, bring their bikes, scooters and skateboards, and enjoy everything the new Bradwell Dingle has to offer."
The open day will include professional BMX demonstrations on the new pump track, opportunities for visitors to ride, and a chance to meet the installation team. Borough Mayor Christopher Bailey will officially open the new playground, with a master of ceremonies hosting the event.

"We’re really proud to have delivered the new pump track at Bradwell Dingle and to have been part of the wider improvements to the park. It’s been great to see the track already getting so much use, and we’re looking forward to celebrating the official opening on Sunday and seeing riders of all ages enjoying it."
