Following a meeting at the CCDC offices this morning, Hednesford Town Council has confirmed that plans for the regeneration of the Cotswold Road Park play area are advancing. The project is currently awaiting planning permission, and the installation contract is out to tender until 5 November 2026. Once the tender period closes, Hednesford Town Council will participate in the assessment process to help select the successful provider.
Subject to the necessary approvals, work is expected to commence on 22 February 2027, with completion planned for 25 March 2027. The council is committed to ensuring the local community has a significant opportunity to voice its opinions. Consequently, Hednesford Town Council has requested a more extensive community consultation than initially planned.
This enhanced consultation will include a drop-in session at Pye Green Community Centre, an online feedback opportunity, and an interactive session with pupils at Pye Green Academy. These sessions are designed to allow local residents and young people to view the proposed design, share their thoughts, and contribute to shaping the new play area.
Residents interested in staying updated on the project are encouraged to like and follow Hednesford Town Council for the latest information on consultation dates and the proposed design.
