Stoke-on-Trent City Council has launched a new Food Support Fund, offering grants of £5,000 to £15,000 to community organisations working to combat food poverty and provide essential support to residents facing financial hardship.
Community organisations across Stoke-on-Trent are invited to apply for the new fund, which is aimed at helping residents access nutritious food and practical support. The scheme, funded through the council's Crisis and Resilience Fund (CRF), will provide grants to organisations delivering projects that prevent food poverty, improve access to healthy food, and strengthen community resilience.
The fund is open to charities, voluntary and community organisations, social enterprises, schools, food banks, and health partners operating within Stoke-on-Trent. Successful projects must support residents experiencing financial hardship and be delivered by March 2027. Eligible initiatives include food banks, community pantries, community kitchens, hot meal services, cooking classes, and provision of cooking equipment alongside advice.
Applications will be assessed on criteria including evidence of need, measurable impact, value for money, and organisational capacity. Councillor Sarah Hill, the council's Cabinet Member for Finance, Anti-Poverty, Governance and Corporate Services, highlighted the ongoing impact of rising living costs on local individuals and families.
Organisations interested in applying can request an application form or obtain further information by emailing: crisisresiliencefund@stoke.gov.uk. Applications must be submitted electronically by midnight on Monday 2nd November 2026.
