“"Every child deserves the opportunity to grow up in a loving and permanent family where they feel safe, valued and supported. National Adoption Week is a chance to reflect on the incredible difference adoption can make and to encourage more people to explore whether they could provide a child with the security and stability they need. There is support available throughout the adoption journey, and I would encourage anyone who is curious about adoption to find out more."

Warwickshire County Council is supporting National Adoption Week 2026, running from Monday 19 to Sunday 25 October, with a focus on the 'Every Day is Everything' message.
The campaign, led by Adoption Central England (ACE) and supported by local authorities, highlights the everyday moments that help children feel safe, loved, and part of a family. This year also marks 100 years since adoption became a formal legal process in England and Wales.
The national ‘You Can Adopt’ initiative aims to encourage more people to consider adoption and challenge misconceptions. It emphasises that adoption is about providing consistent support for a child, from daily routines like breakfast and bedtime stories to celebrating achievements and offering comfort.
ACE has noted a growing need for adopters in the region, with over 90 children currently waiting for permanent homes. The number of people exploring adoption has decreased, leading to longer waits for children seeking stability.
Adopters can come from all backgrounds, including single individuals, married couples, and those living with a partner. ACE is particularly seeking adopters for sibling groups, older children, and those with health needs or uncertainty, as these children often wait the longest.
ACE offers ongoing support throughout the adoption process to help families build strong relationships. Their website features real-life stories from adopted individuals, birth parents, and adoptive families.
For more information about adoption, visit Ace Adoption at aceadoption.com or call 0300 369 0556. Details on the national campaign can be found at youcanadopt.co.uk using the hashtag #EveryDayIsEverything.
