Birmingham City Council is inviting residents, businesses, and visitors to help shape the future of Sutton Coldfield town centre by providing feedback on new design proposals for the Royal Sutton Coldfield Gateway project.

The Royal Sutton Coldfield Gateway project aims to improve access to, from, and around the town centre, focusing on significant enhancements to public transport, walking, wheeling, and cycling infrastructure. The proposals are part of the wider regeneration and revitalisation efforts for Sutton Coldfield town centre, delivering the initial phases of the established masterplan.
Cllr Rob Grant, cabinet member for transport at Birmingham City Council, emphasised the importance of community input. "It’s really important that we hear from those that live and work in the town," he stated. "This is a major project that will deliver much-needed improvements to the town centre and the way people move around the area, and I would encourage people to have their say. It is so important that you have your say so that we can make sure this project is a success so I would urge everyone to take part."
From today, Thursday 22 October, until Thursday 3 December, the public can review the latest plans and images for the proposed scheme and share their thoughts via the project website. The consultation period is open for over a month to gather comprehensive feedback.
Three drop-in events are scheduled to take place at Sutton Coldfield United Reformed Church, located at 1 Brassington Avenue, B73 6AA. Project team members will be present to answer questions and discuss the proposals in detail during these sessions:
  • Thursday 12 November, 2pm to 7pm
  • Wednesday 18 November, 8am to 1pm
  • Saturday 21 November, 11am to 3pm
For any inquiries regarding the project, individuals can contact the team directly via email at: Transport@birmingham.gov.uk. The feedback received will be crucial in shaping the future development of Sutton Coldfield town centre and guiding the next stages of the Royal Sutton Coldfield Gateway project.
