Two Coventry residents, Inderjit Jugdy and Avtar Kaur, have been awarded the Good Citizen Award for their extensive work supporting vulnerable people through their organisation, Langar Aid.

Inderjit Jugdy and Avtar Kaur, founders of Langar Aid, have been selected for the Award in recognition of more than a decade of service to homeless, isolated, and vulnerable people across Coventry. Through their work, they have provided meals, food packs, and practical support, fostering strong partnerships with organisations supporting disadvantaged communities and bringing communities together through interfaith initiatives, including a New Year's Day community meal hosted with Coventry Cathedral.
Over the past 10 years, Langar Aid has grown into a vital support network, serving meals five evenings a week, supplying food to local schools, and assisting refugee families. Their efforts are driven by a commitment to combatting hunger in Coventry.
