Coventry and Warwickshire has maintained its position as a leading UK destination for international investment, securing 47 foreign direct investment (FDI) projects in the 2025/26 financial year, creating 1,726 new jobs.

Despite a national decline in foreign direct investment (FDI), the region saw an increase from 43 projects the previous year, safeguarding an additional 870 existing jobs. This sustained investment underscores the area's appeal to global businesses, with key sectors such as automotive and future mobility, video games and software, and the visitor economy accounting for nearly half of all projects.
Over the past 12 years, Coventry and Warwickshire have attracted a total of 537 FDI projects, resulting in the creation or safeguarding of over 30,800 jobs. Recent investments have benefited communities across the region, with manufacturing and technology businesses expanding in areas like Leamington Spa, Coleshill, and Nuneaton, as well as at MIRA Technology Park.

It is great to see the city and county performing so well in terms of investment from overseas, particularly compared to the national picture. This area continues to have a strong clustering of global businesses, the right talent, a strong visitor economy offer for both business and leisure tourism, and the commercial property for businesses to succeed. With major local development sites like the Coventry & Warwick Investment Zone and MIRA South Site, and leading local business support programmes, we are ready to welcome further investment and expansion in the challenging year ahead.

Councillor Rob Howard, Portfolio Holder for Economy and Rural Development at Warwickshire County Council, highlighted the region's strong performance relative to its population, noting its strength as a destination for global businesses. The council is actively promoting the region's inward investment offer.
