As part of Workplace Wednesday for T Level Week 2026, Sandwell College is highlighting the significant industry experience its T Level Management and Administration students have acquired. This has been made possible through a successful partnership with Lloyds Banking Group.
Five first-year students successfully secured and completed a 10-week paid industry placement with the national banking group, out of only 12 community bank placements available across the entire West Midlands. Additionally, 17 T Level learners participated in a two-day work experience opportunity.
These work experience initiatives provided students with the chance to interact with employees from various departments, explore diverse career paths, and understand the essential skills required for professional success. A notable aspect of the experience involved students delivering presentations to an audience of over 50 people, which helped build their confidence and public speaking abilities in a real-world setting.
Workplace experience is a crucial component of the T Level curriculum, bridging the gap between classroom learning and the practical demands of chosen industries. The collaboration with Lloyds Banking Group offers students valuable employer connections and hands-on learning, equipping them with the necessary skills, experience, and confidence for their future careers.
These experiences underscore how T Levels are instrumental in preparing the next generation of talent for the evolving world of work.
