Nominations are now open for the Solihull Civic Honours Awards 2027, inviting residents to celebrate unsung heroes who significantly contribute to the local community.

The Solihull Civic Honours are designed to recognise outstanding individuals, groups, charities, or organisations that go above and beyond to make a difference within Solihull. Both individuals and groups can submit self-nominations.
Last year's awards highlighted inspirational local figures, including a volunteer who uses music and technology to connect young people with their community, and a dedicated Community First Responder providing life-saving assistance during medical emergencies.
The nomination period will close at 23:59GMT on Monday 16 November. Winners will be celebrated at an awards event scheduled for Monday 22 March 2027.
The Mayor of Solihull, Councillor Sardul Singh Marwa MBE JP, stated, “The Solihull Civic Honours Awards are a wonderful way of spotlighting the many individuals, groups, charities or organisations who go above and beyond to make our borough a better place. You might know someone who deserves to be recognised for their dedication and commitment or have a positive story of your own to share. Whichever it is, I would encourage you to take a moment to submit your nominations and help us celebrate those who truly make a difference in Solihull.”
The award categories include the Good Neighbour Award, the Volunteer Contribution Award, and the VCFSE Organisational Leadership Award for individuals. For groups or organisations, categories include the Small Community Group or Charity of the Year Award, the Health & Wellbeing Award, and the Inclusive Communities Award.
Further categories open to individuals, groups, or organisations are the Community Innovation Award, which celebrates new ideas and creative approaches to community challenges, and the Community Parenting Award, recognising support for care-experienced children and young people. The Mayor’s Award is a special accolade selected personally by the Mayor.
The Solihull Civic Honours Awards are fully funded by sponsors. Touchwood has been confirmed as the main sponsor for the 2027 awards, with more category sponsors to be announced.
