The Herefordshire and Worcestershire Health and Care NHS Trust has launched a new free service encouraging parents and carers to text their local health visiting team for support. This initiative aims to provide advice on various topics, including feeding, child development, toileting, sleep, emotional wellbeing, and behaviour, without the need for a phone call.
The Parentline text service is available Monday to Friday, between 9am and 5pm. Those seeking advice can text 07312 263547. This offers a simple and accessible way for families to connect with Health Visiting Teams.
“"We know that parents and carers are often juggling busy family lives and may not always have the time or opportunity to sit on a phone call. Parentline offers a simple, easy way to get advice and support directly from our Health Visiting Teams via text."
Laura Edmead, Team Lead and Open-Door Lead for Worcestershire's Health Visiting Service, stated, "We would encourage families to save this number in their phone so support is always just a text away".
In addition to the text service, families can continue to access support through the Telephone Advisory Service (TAS) on 01905 520032, available Monday to Friday from 9am to 1pm. Direct email contact is also available for specific areas: Bromsgrove (WHCNHS.0-19PHNBromsgrove@nhs.net), Malvern (WHCNHS.0-19PHNMalvern@nhs.net), Redditch (WHCNHS.0-19PHNRedditch@nhs.net), Worcester (WHCNHS.0-19PHNWorcester@nhs.net), Wychavon (WHCNHS.0-19PHNWychavon@nhs.net), and Wyre Forest (WHCNHS.0-19PHNWF@nhs.net).
