Lincolnshire County Council is seeking public feedback to help shape its new Youth Strategy, aiming to enhance activities and support services for young people aged 11 to 19 across the county.

The council is developing a new strategy to guide its work in providing positive activities and targeted support for young people, including those facing particular challenges. The initiative also aims to support families through community-based services and events, working with partners and youth centres to encourage greater involvement.
Cllr Natalie Oliver, Executive Councillor for Children’s Services, highlighted a historical lack of opportunities for teenagers in the county and expressed a determination to improve the quality of youth work. She emphasised the importance of providing the right support, in the right place, and at the right time, urging residents to share their views.
“

"Your views will influence the development of our new Youth Strategy. We’ve already been speaking with young people and stakeholders, and this consultation will build on what we have heard so far. We want to hear your thoughts on what’s working well and where improvements are required. We also want to know whether there are other activities, support or opportunities you think young people would benefit from, and how our services can better support their wellbeing."

Cllr Natalie Oliver · Executive Councillor for Children’s Services
Feedback can be submitted via an online survey at www.letstalk.lincolnshire.gov.uk/youth-strategy-consultation until 4 January 2027. Additionally, a programme of conversations, workshops, and interactive activities will offer young people further opportunities to share their experiences and ideas, particularly encouraging participation from groups less inclined to complete surveys.
The collected feedback will be instrumental in shaping Lincolnshire’s final Youth Strategy, ensuring services are aligned with the needs and aspirations of its young residents and their families.
