Progress on the Grantham Southern Relief Road project has been detailed by Lincolnshire County Council, outlining key achievements from October and upcoming activities for November. The update covers both the west and east sides of the construction site.
On the west side of the site in October, the bridge launch was completed, and work continued on the removal of launch equipment. Assembly of the access gantry also progressed. For November, the complete assembly of the access gantry is planned, alongside continued removal of launch equipment. A significant undertaking will be the commencement of bulk earthworks fill to the embankment, with over 100,000 tonnes of material to be used.
On the east side, October saw the continuation of installation for temporary works to Pier 5, and the removal of sections of the temporary work launch nose. In November, the temporary works removal to Pier 5 is scheduled, along with the continued removal of Span 5 temporary strengthening plates. Material will also be moved from the allotment to the west embankment.
Current traffic restrictions remain around the B1174 Roundabout to facilitate the construction of the haul route and site access. No upcoming traffic restrictions or closures have been announced at this time.
