West Northamptonshire Council is reviewing its healthy lifestyle services and has launched an online consultation to gather resident feedback on future improvements and accessibility.

West Northamptonshire Council (WNC) is currently reviewing its healthy lifestyle services to explore how support can be enhanced and made more accessible for residents in the future. The council is inviting residents to share their perspectives through an online consultation. This initiative aims to understand what aspects of health and wellbeing are most important to residents, what helps them maintain a healthy lifestyle, and the challenges they encounter in looking after their health.
Healthy lifestyles encompass a broad spectrum of areas, including physical health, mental and emotional wellbeing, and social connections. This can involve activities such as staying active, eating a balanced diet, managing a healthy weight, quitting smoking, moderating alcohol consumption, effectively managing stress, and fostering strong connections with family, friends, and the wider community.
The review will investigate how various support services can be integrated to better address local needs. Potential areas of focus include stop smoking services, adult weight management programmes, health checks, guidance on improving physical and mental wellbeing, support for children and young people to maintain a healthy weight, and connections to local groups and community activities.
WNC encourages residents of all ages and backgrounds to participate, regardless of whether they currently use healthy lifestyle services. The survey is designed to take approximately 10 to 15 minutes to complete and all responses will be treated anonymously. The feedback gathered will be instrumental in informing the future planning and development of health and wellbeing support across West Northamptonshire. However, completing the survey does not guarantee the provision of specific services.
Residents can contribute their views by accessing more information about the project and completing the online survey via the link provided on the West Northamptonshire Council's website. The consultation period concludes on 18 November 2026.
