The West Northamptonshire Warm Homes Local Grant Scheme has closed for the 2026/27 financial year due to reaching its annual funding allocation, with eligible residents now placed on a waiting list.

The West Northamptonshire Warm Homes Local Grant Scheme is now closed for the 2026/27 period due to significant demand, as the annual funding allocation has been met. This scheme is part of a three-year Government programme providing local authorities with funds to help eligible residents improve their homes' energy efficiency.
West Northamptonshire Council has now allocated all its Year 2 funding and cannot offer further grants this financial year. However, a budget is in place for Year 3, set to begin on 1 April 2027. Applications received during the 2026/27 window will be processed and placed on a waiting list, with residents contacted after 1 April 2027 when new funding becomes available. Applications will be processed in receipt order.
Eligibility for the scheme requires a household income of £36,000 a year or less, or receipt of certain benefits. Applications can be made directly by homeowners or by landlords for eligible tenants. Successful applicants could receive improvements such as wall, loft, and underfloor insulation, air source heat pumps, smart controls, and solar panels.
“

"It’s great news that we have been able to assist so many local residents with making improvements to their homes so they are now more energy efficient, but this demand does mean we have allocated all the available funding for Year 2 and are unable to fund any further improvement works. Funding is in place for Year 3, which is the final year of the programme, so I would encourage anyone who is eligible and interested in the scheme to apply early. Even though we cannot fund any improvements until the new allocation is in place on 1 April, all applications will continue to be processed, and successful applications will be held on a waiting list."
